CUSTOMER ADVISORY

MVC Centers in Flemington and Rahway Closed

TRENTON – Effective immediately, the Flemington Licensing Center and Rahway Licensing Center are closed, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced. At each location, a single employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The Flemington Licensing Center will reopen Monday, November 30. The employee who tested positive was last in the Flemington Center on Saturday, November 14.

The Rahway Licensing Center will reopen Tuesday, November 24. The employee who tested positive was last in the Rahway Center on Monday, November 9.

The Inspection Stations in Flemington and Rahway will remain open, as will Rahway Road Test Operations. These facilities are in separate locations, apart from the Licensing Centers.

Five other MVC Centers remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location, and will reopen on the following dates:

  • Runnemede Vehicle Center – reopens Thursday, November 19
  • Trenton Regional/Vehicle Center – reopens Friday, November 20
  • Eatontown Regional/Licensing Center – reopens Friday, November 20
  • Bayonne Licensing Center – reopens Wednesday, November 25
  • Wallington Vehicle Center – reopens Wednesday, November 25

Upon closure due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, MVC Centers are cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete.

In addition, the South Plainfield and Wayne Licensing Centers are operating as appointment-only locations until Monday, November 23. No walk-ins are allowed at either location currently.

As previously announced, the South Plainfield and Wayne Centers will be closed Saturday, November 21, as Saturday employees are required to quarantine at both locations.

Customers should always log on to NJMVC.gov to check the status of locations before heading out to any MVC facility. Additionally, nearly 30 different online services and transactions are available at the MVC website, where customers also can make appointments for select license and vehicle transactions, find quick links for up-to-date information, and learn more about the many recent changes at the MVC.
