TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced that the Salem Licensing Center has been closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.

The Salem Licensing Center will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 8. The employee who tested positive was last in the Salem Center on Monday, Nov. 23.

Salem Road Test Operations and the Salem Inspection Station will remain open, as they are in separate facilities.

Besides Salem, six other MVC Centers remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location. These Centers are scheduled to reopen on the following dates:

  • Lakewood Vehicle Center – reopens Saturday, Nov. 28
  • Flemington Licensing Center – reopens Monday, Nov. 30
  • Delanco Licensing Center – reopens Monday, Nov. 30
  • Lodi Licensing Center – reopens Thursday, Dec. 3
  • West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center – reopens Thursday, Dec. 3
  • Wayne Licensing Center – reopens Friday, Dec. 4

The Bayonne Licensing Center and Wallington Vehicle Center will be reopening tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 25. Both Centers will be fully operational after quarantine closing and full COVID-19 cleaning.

All MVC facilities, including agencies, road testing sites, and inspection stations, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday. MVC facilities will be open for regular business Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28 (unless closed due to COVID-19).

Customers should always log on to NJMVC.gov before heading out to an MVC facility. At the website, customers can find basic information and updates on MVC operations, check the status of MVC locations, complete transactions like license and registration renewals online, schedule appointments for select vehicle and license transactions, and more.
