Companies New to the State
Welcome to New Jersey! The New Jersey Business Action Center (BAC) is pleased to introduce some of the new companies that we worked hard to attract to the Garden State. Encouraging business growth helps create jobs and opportunity for New Jersey citizens. For a complete list of recent additions to the NJ business landscape, view our Wins List.
After preparing a full proposal package for Amazon, BAC advocates provided ongoing outreach and advocacy related to permitting, land use, zoning issues and property tax abatement programs. The BAC also facilitated stakeholder meetings between Amazon representatives, the Mayor of Robbinsville and local officials on incentive options, as well as worked with the Departments of Transportation and Labor on roadway improvements and workforce training grants.
The BAC worked with the appliance and electronics chain on plans to construct a 100,000+-square-foot regional distribution facility in Swedesboro (Logan Township). The capital investment was $2 million. In March 2010, hhgregg executed a Business Employment Incentive Program grant worth an estimated $118,750 to create 25 new jobs. This company began opening retail outlets in 2010.
In September 2013, Destination Maternity announced its decision to relocate its Philadelphia headquarters and distribution center to Florence, New Jersey. Destination Maternity brought more than 600 new jobs to its new state-of-the-art 400,000-square-foot distribution facility, which was built to suit their growing business needs. Later this year, Destination Maternity's corporate office operations will move to a completely renovated 74,000-square-foot Class A office building in Moorestown. Destination Maternity joins Catapult Learning (Camden, 80 new jobs), Everite Machine Products (Pennsauken, 100 new jobs), hhgregg (Swedesboro, 25 new jobs) and other companies that have crossed the Delaware River to New Jersey business opportunities.
