New Jersey State Police Arrest
Trenton Gun Trafficking Duo
Trenton, N.J. - As a result of an investigation involving gun trafficking in Trenton, the New Jersey State Police Weapons Trafficking Unit arrested two Trenton men in December.
Edward Ramos Jr., 20, was arrested on December 7th, 2011 and Ruben Rios, 20, was arrested on December 14th 2011. Both men from Trenton were charged with selling firearms and ammunition, including body armor penetrating rounds, which were destined for neighborhoods throughout Trenton. Troopers seized a total of nine firearms including seven semi-automatic handguns, one revolver, and one rifle.
The investigation culminated in December 2011, after the NJSP Weapons Trafficking Unit executed search and arrest warrants with the assistance of the NJSP Street Gang Central Unit, NJSP TEAMS, K-9, and the Trenton Police Department. Rios and Ramos were lodged in Mercer County Jail in default of bail.

- Unlawful Use or Transfer of Firearms
- Unlawful Possession of Handguns
- Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition
- Eluding Law Enforcement
Ruben Rios was charged with the following:
- Unlawful Use or Transfer of Firearms
- Unlawful Possession of Handguns
- Unlawful Possession of Rifle/Shotgun
- Possession of Stolen Property
- Possession of Weapons for Unlawful Purpose
