Six Arrested In Connection With Home Invasion
of Alleged Drug Dealer
Green Township, N.J. – An extensive three-month investigation has led to the arrest of six individuals in
connection with a home invasion and robbery of a Sussex County couple, and a drug possession and distribution arrest
of one of the homeowners.
At 7:35 p.m., on Saturday, December 28, 2013, the victim was home alone when she heard a knock at her front door.
When she opened it, she saw a petite female who looked like she was in her late teens or early twenties. Seconds later,
three assailants wearing ski masks and brandishing handguns knocked her down as they forced their way inside. Once in the
home, the assailants dragged her into the living-room where they bound her feet with plastic zip-ties, covered her with a
bed sheet, and held her at gun-point threatening to kill her if she did not cooperate.
When State Troopers from the Sussex Barracks arrived at residence, the victim told responding troopers that she was
able to see one of the assailants go to the upstairs of her home and return with a partially full plastic bag. As the
troopers began to check the residence, they observed marijuana in plain view. They also noted the odor of marijuana
throughout the home.
The homeowner, Larry Gribler, responded to the scene after being notified of the home invasion. After speaking with
troopers at his home, Gribler was interviewed at Sussex Barracks. Further investigation led troopers to obtain a warrant
to search the residence.
As a result of the search, troopers discovered marijuana, cocaine, $12,000 U.S. currency, and various paraphernalia
consistent with drug distribution. Larry Gribler, 68, of Green Township was arrested and charged with Distribution of
a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Cocaine. He was lodged in the Sussex County
Jail in lieu of $150,000 full cash bail.
In January, based on facts gathered by the investigators, six individuals were identified as suspects in the home
invasion and theft of U.S. currency and jewelry valued at more than $500. They were apprehended over the past several
weeks with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, T.E.A.M.S. Unit, and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s
Office.
