Bass River Station Troopers Arrest Man on
Parkway Wanted for Attempted Murder
Dover Twp. Ocean County NJ- When Troopers Ronnie Repasky and Shaun Murray from the Garden State Parkway Bass River Station stopped to check on a possible disabled car, they didn't expect to come face to face with a man wanted for attempted murder. However, their diligent patrol put them in the right place at the right time to arrest a wanted man.
Just before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, May 20th, troopers spotted a car parked on the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway near milepost 82. They pulled behind the vehicle and approached the driver to see if he needed any assistance. A check of the driver's credentials showed that he had a warrant issued by the New Brunswick Police Department for Aggravated Assault and Attempted Murder.
The driver, Chad Butler, Jr., 21 of New Brunswick, arrested and transported to the Pleasant Plains Station where he was charged by the State Police for Contempt of Court. Troopers contacted the New Brunswick Police Department which sent officers to take custody of the defendant.
