Mr.
Basciano has been identified by law enforcement agencies
as being a "member/soldier" of the Bonanno organized
crime family, and he allegedly has ties to the Gambino organized
crime family. Mr. Basciano allegedly is actively involved
in overseeing a large, illegal gambling operation for the
LaCostra Nostra. In addition, in 1987, Mr. Basciano was
convicted in New York for criminal possession of a weapon.
The original charge stemming from this conviction had been
for attempted murder. |
