Robert Davis Named JJC Correction Officer of the Year

MONROE TWP - The New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC) recently honored Robert Davis as one of five 2005 Correction Officer of the Year recipients. This award is bestowed annually upon one officer from each of the JJC's five secure facilities. Recipients of this award are selected based on outstanding job performance, exemplary work records, and service to their communities.

Officer Davis began his career with the JJC in 1998 at its Juvenile Medium Security Facility. He is currently assigned to the Juvenile Reception and Assessment Facility (JRAC) located in Bordenton, where he serves as Special Assignment Officer. In this role, he is instrumental in the daily operation of the facility, utilizing a combination of good communication skills and a steady work ethic to effectively perform his duties.

"Through his professionalism on the job and his commitment to his community, Correction Officer Robert Davis has proven to be a role model and mentor for the juvenile residents in JJC facilities, as well for young people in his community," said Howard L. Beyer, Executive Director, JJC. "The JJC is committed to realizing the potential of the young people in its care and helping them change the direction of their futures. Our dedicated and experienced law enforcement staff play a critical role in fulfilling this mission."

Officer Davis is married to Carrie and is the proud father of Madison and Robert. Officer Davis volunteers his time preparing meals at Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.

The JJC employs approximately 500 law enforcement officers.
