Date of Proposal:
September 4, 2007

Proposal Number:
PRN 2007-199

Proposal Description:
The Division on Civil Rights proposes to amend N.J.A.C. 13:10-2.3 regarding the form and content of a report to be filed annually with the Division by the owners of multiple apartment dwellings containing 25 units or more, and to amend N.J.A.C. 13:10-2.4 regarding the filing of such reports.

Specifically, the Division proposes that multiple dwelling property owners be required to file their MDRR (Multiple Dwelling Reporting Rule) reports electronically on the Division’s Web site. Chapter 10 of the Division’s rules require owners of multiple apartment dwellings to file an
annual report concerning the racial/ethnic composition of their tenants, whether any of their buildings or developments are barrier-free, and other factors affecting the dwelling’s composition. The proposed amendment requiring electronic filing of the MDRR report appears in the July 16, 2007 edition of the New Jersey Register.

Summary of Proposal:
A detailed summary of the proposed rule is posted on the Division on Civil Rights Web site at www.NJCivilRights.org

Public Comment:
Public comment on the proposed rule will be accepted until November 3, 2007.
