Un Hombre del Condado de Burlington es Acusado de Girar $226,000 en Cheques Bancarios sin Fondos

La Fiscal General Anne Milgram informó que un hombre del Condado de Burlington ha sido acusado de girar más de $226,000 en cheques bancarios sin fondos teniendo pleno conocimiento y utilizando los fondos de una cuenta bancaria cancelada.

Philip A. Ruggiero, Jr., de 48 años, residente en Marlton, fue acusado de emitir cheques sin fondos en segundo grado.

Los cargos formulados por un jurado investigador, señalan que entre el 26 de diciembre de 2006 y el 2 de septiembre de 2008, Ruggiero, empleado corporativo de la firma Holmes Mill Farms, LLC, localizada en Cream Ridge, presuntamente escribió 39 cheques sin fondos total de $226,994. Después que Ruggiero fue informado por los funcionarios de Mariner Bank en Edgewater, condado de Bergen, que la cuenta bancaria de Holmes Mill Farms había sido cancelada, continuó girando cheques sin fondos de esa cuenta. Se le acusa a Ruggiero de haber enviado cheques inválidos a varias compañias y personas individuales,incluyendo 11 cheques por un total de $ 73,000 que giró a nombre de su esposa. Mariner Bank, aparentemente pagó más de $150,000 por los cheques antes que se pudiera descubrir el fraude y comunicar a la División de Justicia Criminal para su investigación.

El Detective Martin Farrell y el Vice Fiscal Francine Ehrenberg fueron asignados a la investigación.

Los delitos en segundo grado acarrean sentencias maximas de 10 años en prisión y el pago de una multa de $150,000.
