Ewing, NJ - Members of the New Jersey State Police Drug Trafficking Central Unit along with the Mobile Safe Freight Unit arrested two men and seized a tractor trailer in which they had hidden more than $3 million in US currency.

Gildardo Andujo, 24, of Hawthorne CA and Edward Ramirez, 25, of Southgate CA were arrested on the afternoon of June 24th as their tractor trailer traveled north on I-95 in Ewing, Mercer County.

Detectives searched the tractor trailer, finding a hidden compartment in the front of the trailer that contained more than a 120 bundles of cash. The origins of this money, which is believed to be the proceeds from drug transactions, is pending forfeiture through the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. The money was believed to be headed to California.

The money was seized and taken to a local Bank of America branch for an official count. The tractor and trailer, owned by Rodriguez Trucking of Bell Gardens, CA was also seized.

Andujo and Ramirez were charged with Conspiracy and first degree Money Laundering. They were taken to the Mercer County Jail in default of $500,000 full cash bail.
