Over 1,200 members of law enforcement and other stakeholders to attend summit at Trenton War Memorial launching first-in-nation statewide program to address well-being of police officers—the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal will be among the speakers who will address over 1,200 members of law enforcement, relatives of fallen officers, mental health experts, chaplains, and other stakeholders as the Attorney General’s Office hosts a groundbreaking two-day Resiliency Summit. The summit will serve as a forum for discussion of the emotional, mental and physical stress and trauma that police officers endure on a daily basis, and the ways that the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement and other programs support officers and seek to prevent officer suicides. The summit also will serve as a “bridge training” to provide initial training for Resiliency Program Officers from law enforcement agencies across the state, who ultimately will train all officers statewide in resiliency under the Directive issued by AG Grewal to establish the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement.
Press: Open for Entire Two-Day Summit
Media outlets are encouraged to make prior arrangements to interview key participants about the impact of officer stress and trauma and the goals of the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement and related programs being showcased during the Resiliency Summit. A separate media space will be provided for such interviews.
