Troopers Arrest East Amwell Man for 2011 Armed Robbery
Ringoes (East Amwell Township), Hunterdon County, N.J. - Detectives and troopers from the Kingwood Station never like to see a case go unsolved. On Tuesday, January 8th, 2013, they arrested a local man for an armed robbery of a gas station that occurred one and a half years ago.
On the evening of Friday, July 15, 2011, troopers from the Kingwood Station were dispatched to the Shell Gas Station on Rt. 202 to investigate a gas station robbery. A lone man holding a handgun and a note demanding money entered the business office, held the gun up to the attendant and stole two bags of cash before fleeing the scene.
In the months following the robbery, detectives from the NJSP Criminal Investigations Office continued using every means possible to move the case forward. They were able to develop a suspect, and finally on Tuesday, obtain an arrest warrant for Kevin C. Jarrell, 26, of East Amwell Township. Jarrell was arrested that same day at his residence and charged with:
Robbery - 2C:15-1a(2) (1st degree)
Possession of a Weapon, 2C:39-5b (3rd degree)
Possession of a Weapon, 2C:39-5d (4th degree)
Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, 2C:39-4a (2nd degree)
Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, 2C:39-4d (3rd degree)
Bail was set at $65,000, full cash. Jarrell was lodged in Hunterdon County Jail in default of bail.
