Additional Arrests/Guns Added to
Central Jersey Heroin Bust
North Brunswick, N.J. - On Wednesday April 24, troopers and detectives from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office
recovered two more handguns, and made an arrest after a search warrant was executed at a storage unit connected to a major drug
distribution network takedown on Tuesday, April 23.
Shannon Blanding, 34, of Franklin Township was arrested at 97 Newport Avenue, Somerset and charged with Possession of an
Assault Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Possession of Handgun, and Possession of an extended capacity magazine.
She was lodged in the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of $150,000 full cash bail.
Johnny Totten, 37, of Franklin Township, who was incarcerated at the Middlesex County Jail, was charged additionally with
Possession of an Assault Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Possession of Handgun, and Possession of and extended
capacity magazine. He remains in the Middlesex County Jail on bail that was increased to $450,000.
Inside the storage unit, detectives found a loaded TEC 9 assault weapon with a defaced serial number and an extended magazine,
along with a loaded 357 handgun. Blanding and Totten allegedly sold and stored heroin in the facility.
Charges are mere accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
