Troopers Seize 5 Kilos of Heroin and Large Amount of Cash
During Interstate 80 Traffic Stop
Knowlton Twp, N.J. – A traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Knowlton Township led to the arrest of a Cleveland man,
the seizure of 5 kilos of heroin and a large amount of cash.
On Saturday morning at approximately 2:40 a.m., troopers stopped a 2006 Saturn Vue SUV, driven by John Foster, 63,
of Cleveland, Ohio, on I-80 eastbound in Knowlton Twp. Further investigation during the stop led to the discovery 5 kilos of
heroin, valued at $325,000.00 and 7 heat sealed packages of money hidden in an electronically activated compartment located
in the rear cargo area of the vehicle. The amount of money that was recovered is pending an official count.
Foster was placed under arrest and charged with:
- Possession of Heroin
- Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute
- Money Laundering
- Conspiracy
- Being a Fugitive from Justice (50 state extradition warrant out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio)
Foster was lodged in the Warren County Jail in default of $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
Charges are mere accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
