Buckle Up America – Every Trip, Every Time
West Trenton, N.J. - What is the best preparation for a holiday road trip? Buckle up. In 2012, more
than 300 people were killed in crashes on Thanksgiving weekend alone and 60 percent of those occupants killed
were not wearing their seatbelts. At night, that number jumped to 69 percent.
The New Jersey State Police is joining the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in their national
campaign, “Buckle up America. Every trip. Every time.”
From Wednesday, November 26, 2014 to Monday, December 1, 2014 the New Jersey State Police will have approximately 150
additional patrols looking for seat belt violations as well as DWI and aggressive drivers. Wear your seatbelt every
trip, every time, whether you’re the driver or a passenger, front seat or back. It’s the best way to protect
yourself from injury or death in a crash.
