Climate Change threatens the future of New Jersey’s communities. To limit the adverse effects, New Jersey has dedicated millions of dollars from its participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) towards projects and programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help achieve our emissions reductions goals for 2030 and 2050. We want to know how you think New Jersey should invest these funds in projects that reduce emissions, provide clean energy, and increase equity across the state. What climate-change solutions are most important to you?
To better understand what types of climate change-fighting projects and programs New Jersey community members believe should be the highest priority, three New Jersey State agencies (Department of Environmental Protection, Economic Development Authority, and the Board of Public Utilities) will collect your preferences and input on possible solutions through this interactive online tool.
The climate change solutions that receive the most votes will be given priority consideration when the agencies write a draft of the RGGI Strategic Funding Plan which dictates how the public dollars will be spent over the three-year period (2023-2025). The agencies will then hold a series of public meetings in the fall to gather public feedback and input on the draft plan that the ideas you submit here will help create.
Below you can cast your vote by choosing which of two climate change solutions is most important to you. Once you make a selection, a new pair of options will appear for you to choose from.
Vote on as many (or as few) two-option questions as you like…or add your own option! The more you tell us, the better we can prioritize the use of NJ’s RGGI funding for projects that matter most to the people of New Jersey.
