The New Jersey Ratepayer Advocate filed comments today, Tuesday, August 3, 2004, asking the FCC to deny Verizon's petition regarding fast packet service offerings. The Ratepayer Advocate opposes Verizon's request for elimination of the restrictions the FCC previously imposed as a condition of Verizon's prior waiver request. In addition, Verizon's alternative request for forbearance fails to establish a prima facie showing and should, therefore, be dismissed. August 3, 2004

New Jersey Ratepayer Advocate Seema M. Singh, in comments filed with the FCC, opposed Bellsouth's attempts to restrict state commission authority under Section 271 of the Telecommunications Act. The Ratepayer Advocate is advocate that the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has the authority to set 271 rates for network elements. July 30, 2004
