Alan A. Rockoff -Executive Director

Alan A. Rockoff served two separate terms as a New Jersey State Superior Court Judge, from 1978 to 1983, and again, from 1993 to 2002. During the intervening decade, he served two terms as Middlesex County Prosecutor. Prior to his Superior Court tenure, Mr. Rockoff served on Middlesex County's Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in 1972, District Court in 1973, and County Court from 1973 to 1978. In September 2002, he was appointed Deputy Attorney General in the State Division of Criminal Justice where he mentored and oriented newly appointed County Prosecutors while also aiding in the reduction of pre- and post-indictment criminal caseloads in the courts.   Mr. Rockoff served as a member of the New Jersey Police Training Commission between 1984 and 1988, and as a member of the New Jersey Legislature's Juvenile Disposition Commission from 1984 to 1992. In addition to a long list of other professional and volunteer service affiliations and activities, he was a member of the State Supreme Court's Model Criminal Charge Subcommittee from 1979 to 1996, the Criminal Practice Committee from 1980 to 1996, and the Model Civil Jury Charge Committee from 1996 to 2002. He is a former President of the County Prosecutors' Association of New Jersey and served in numerous capacities with the National District Attorneys Association, including Treasurer, and was a member of NDAA's Executive Committee for six years.   Mr. Rockoff graduated Rutgers University, attended New York University Law School and received his law degree and Doctor of law degree from Rutgers University Law School after serving as Captain in the United States Air Force on active duty in Europe for two-and-a-half years.
