EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & RESPONSE RESOURCES
The State Arts Council is saddened to hear of the damage to several New Jersey communities over the past two days. We have learned that arts institutions and artist studios have been impacted by the storms and subsequent flooding. As part of the Council's ongoing effort to strengthen our state's arts community, we would like to share resources that specifically address emergency preparedness and response in the arts and culture sector. Please see below for a list of resources. As always, the Council staff is here to answer any questions you might have and help identify resources for artists and arts organizations impacted by this week's storms.

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, created in 1966, is a division of the NJ Department of State. The Council was established to encourage and foster public interest in the arts; enlarge public and private resources devoted to the arts; promote freedom of expression in the arts; and facilitate the inclusion of art in every public building in New Jersey. The Council receives direct appropriations from the State of New Jersey through a dedicated, renewable Hotel/Motel Occupancy fee, as well as competitive grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
