Tuckerton
to Brick
This ride follows the Barnegat Bay
front from Stanley H. "Tip" Seaman
County Park in Tuckerton to Mantoloking
Bridge County Park in Brick Township.
Traversing communities which are distinguished
as both coastal Pinelands communities
and as part of the "Jersey Shore",
this 47-mile route offers access to
a range of activities on the mainland,
at the bay and on the coast.
Riding through the coastal Pinelands
towns, you can discover unique maritime
traditions of the past and present
and experience the relationship between
culture and nature on the Barnegat
Bay. Constructed mainly on the flat
terrain of a historic rail corridor,
most of this ride parallels the Barnegat
Bay. Free parking and indoor bathrooms
are available at the start and end
points of this ride.
Visitors will find an endless mixture of attractions and activities to complement their ride through the Pinelands and shores of the Barnegat Bay. A few of the many attractions are highlighted below.

Edwin B.
Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge
- Barnegat Observation Platform,
Barnegat
This observation
platform, carefully
tucked along Bayshore Drive between Ridgeway
and Edison Avenues, overlooks a 300-acre
freshwater marsh. Located in one of the
Atlantic Flyway's most active flight
paths, visitors in the spring and fall
may observe migratory birds stopping
to rest and feed. Open daily from sunrise
to sunset.
Barnegat

This free municipal bathing beach is
not only a great spot for swimming
and sunbathing in summer months, it's
also an optimal location for bay views
and bird-watching year-round. By standing
on the water's edge you can view the
Barnegat Lighthouse across the bay.
Huddy
Park, Toms River Township

the river in downtown Toms River was
the site of an attack by the British

of a paddle wheel riverboat (and the
only true stern-wheeler in the state),

landscape surrounding these riverbanks
includes rolling hills, well-manicured
lawns, and uniquely designed homes, many
dating back to the turn of the century.

last significant patches of barrier island
ecosystems remaining in New Jersey and
is home to the state's largest osprey
colony. The park's dunes and white sand
beach are attractive to swimmers, sunbathers
and surfers. Modern bathhouses, beach
access ramps, a mile of beach with lifeguards,
historic buildings, trails, diverse wildlife
and interpretive programs make this park
worth exploring.
