Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 54
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 54 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Atlantic County:
i. In the Borough of Buena:
(1) For the southbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between Route US 40 and the Buena Borough - Buena Vista Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 1.10); thence
ii. In the Township of Buena Vista:
(1) For the northbound direction of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between Route US 40 and the Buena Borough – Buena Vista Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 1.10); thence
(2) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Buena Borough – Buena Vista Township corporate line and the Buena Vista Township - Folsom Borough corporate line (approximate mileposts 1.10 to 6.10); thence
iii. In the Borough of Folsom:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Buena Vista Township – Folsom Borough corporate line and Folsom Borough - Town of Hammonton corporate line (approximate mileposts 6.10 to 8.20); thence
iv. In the Town of Hammonton:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 55 MPH between the Folsom Borough – Town of Hammonton corporate line and 200 feet south of the center of the bridge over Penny Pot Stream (approximate mileposts 8.20 to 8.26); thence
(B) Zone 2: 50 MPH between 200 feet south of the center of the bridge over Penny Pot Stream and 500 feet south of Chews Road (County Route 559) (approximate mileposts 8.26 to 9.94); thence
(C) Zone 3: 35 MPH between 500 feet south of Chews Road (County Route 559) and Madison Avenue (approximate mileposts 9.94 to 10.32); thence
(D) Zone 4: 25 MPH between Madison Avenue and Tilton Street (approximate mileposts 10.32 to 10.99); thence
(E) Zone 5: 35 MPH between Tilton Street and Route US 30 (end of route) (approximate mileposts 10.99 to 11.88).
