New Enhanced Business Formation Service

The New Jersey Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services has launched a new and improved Business Formation service.  This web-based application streamlines the process of forming a business in New Jersey and provides real-time access to purchased documents for up to 14 days. The Business Formation service is accessible via the Division’s website or by visiting the service directly.

The service is mobile-friendly. The on-screen presentation will automatically adjust for the type of device employed by the end-user, including smart phones and tablets.

The service offers other key features such as the ability to:
  • Search and validate selected business name
  • Identify registered agent by identification number
  • Upload documents such as business purpose, and for out-of-state companies, Good Standing Certificates
  • Immediately access documents with retrieval for up to 14 days
  • Immediately post filed documents to the public information system (prior system required more than 20 days)
  • Link with the online tax/employer registration and receive e-mail reminders regarding tax/employer registration
  • Accept all major credit cards and eChecks
