Executive Director's Message

Happy Healthy New Year and welcome to the 2022 Winter Edition of the GCADA newsletter! I hope you were able to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends, take well-deserved time to refresh and renew, and that your new year is off to a good start.

Looking back at 2021, we at GCADA are filled with gratitude for the extraordinary work done by the Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. It was truly a privilege to honor the 2021 Volunteers of the Year at our December Council meeting, to recognize the exceptional accomplishments of the honorees, as well as the vital work done by all volunteers across the state every single day, even in the face of unprecedented challenges. We thank you all for your grace, selflessness, generosity of time and spirit, and unflinching commitment to making a difference in the communities in which you live and work. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the good work of all the state and municipal Alliance coordinators, and the GCADA Alliance unit, for your perseverance, your dedication to excellence, and for always rising to the occasion.

It is now time to embrace the new year, to look to the future with hopefulness and enthusiasm, knowing that when we all work together, when we bring our collective expertise, experience, and passion to the tasks at hand, all things are possible. We can inspire and educate, change lives, and save lives, working together to help create healthy and safe communities. To that end, please be assured that GCADA Deputy Director Rebecca Alfaro and I will continue to work to strengthen this remarkable program, and to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Sending wishes of good health to all of you, and to your families.
