Advisory Graduate Medical Education Council (AGMEC)

On March 26, 2008, Governor Corzine signed Assembly Bill No. 1862, increasing the membership of the Advisory Graduate Medical Education Council of New Jersey by adding the President of the New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals as an ex officio, voting member of the council.

The council was established pursuant to P.L.1977, c.390 (C.18A:64H-1 et seq.) for the purpose of making recommendations for the support, through federal, State and private funds, of graduate medical education programs in private nonprofit and public hospitals in the State, and for the development and implementation of new graduate medical education programs to meet the needs of the citizens of the State.
