Summer EBT

The NJ Summer EBT Program provides low-income families with a one-time $120 EBT card per eligible child to help purchase groceries during the summer when kids might not have access to school meals.

REMINDERS:
Eligible students will receive a new Summer EBT card each year. Summer EBT Benefits have a strict time limit. Families who receive Summer EBT funds have 122 days (approximately 4 months) to use their benefits. If benefits are not used within the 122-day time period, the funds will be returned to the federal government and cannot be reissued. The 122-day count begins the day benefits were loaded onto the Summer EBT card, NOT the day the card is received in the mail.

Dual participation in the Summer EBT program is prohibited. This means that children may not receive multiple benefit allotments from the same State, or from more than one State, each summer. For example, a child who moves in the late spring may not receive a benefit from the State they left and from the State to which they moved. If you plan to move out of State during or shortly after the summer operational period, please submit a written notification via email to DFNSummerEBT@ag.nj.gov .
