At the request of Governor Murphy’s office, the OPD hosted a press conference on July 27 to advocate for passage of sentencing reform legislation which includes the elimination of mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses. The package was passed by the Assembly and is moving through the Senate. Public Defender Krakora was instrumental in this process as a leading member of the Sentencing Commission.
