Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26G-3.3 the NJDEP assesses the following fees related to hazardous waste (HW):
(1) HW Compliance Monitoring Fees:

(2) HW Biennial Report Fees
Based on the total amount of HW generated annually, a facility must submit a Biennial report and fee.

- How can I verify the quantity of HW generated by my facility for calendar year 2024?
See the 2024 calendar year quantity of hazardous and acutely hazardous waste generated by your facility.
Additionally, you can access the USEPA RCRAinfo system which provides HW manifest data since June 30, 2018 when the USEPA assumed responsibility for receiving and recording HW manifest data for all US States and Territories in a single RCRAinfo database system. For more information about the national HW manifest system changes . Review your manifest data for the time period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.
- How can I verify the quantity of HW transported subject to billing for calendar year 2023 and 2024 and 2025?
See the quantity of hazardous waste you transported into, within, or out of New Jersey during the 2023 calendar year.
See the quantity of hazardous waste you transported into, within, or out of New Jersey during the 2024 calendar year.
See the quantity of hazardous waste you transported into, within, or out of New Jersey during the 2025 calendar year. The per ton rate that is displayed is an estimate based upon the previous 12 months of manifest data – the accuracy of this rate improves as we approach December since the fee is for the calendar year.

- Can these annual fee invoices be paid online?
Yes and it is recommended that the invoice be paid electronically using a credit card or e-check to avoid mail and processing delays. To pay online, use NJDEP’s Pay for a Paper Invoice service available by clicking here. You will need to provide the invoice number which is printed on the top right portion of the paper invoice.
- What if an annual fee invoice is not paid?
If the invoice is not paid by the due date, a Second Notice will be issued. If the Second Notice is not paid by the due date, a Third Notice will be issued. If the Third Notice is not paid by the due date, the invoice is referred to a collection agency. Be advised that pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26G-3.2(b), a person who fails to pay a fee within 30 days of due date can also be subject to penalties pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26G-2.8.

- If a company no longer generates HW, what notification is required to avoid future fee invoices?
If your facility no longer generates hazardous waste please send this form to MebInfo@dep.nj.gov Alternatively, if you already have a RCRAinfo online account you can make a myRCRAid submission and selecting the Reason for Submittal is Notifying that regulated activity is no longer occurring at this Site. - How can generator status and other information for a facility such as name, address and contact information be changed?
Changes to facility information must be submitted through the USEPA database using the myRCRAid service portion of RCRAinfo which is available by clicking here.
