Delaware River Fishing Reports - 2010
The information below is primarily from Gary Conner, the voice of the Shad Hotline. Additional information is compiled by Mark Boriek, Principal Fisheries Biologist at the division's Lebanon Field Office. Reports from past years are also available. Delaware River Report, 4/12/10
In Delaware Bay, biologist Russ Allen of our Bureau of Marine Fisheries is netting, tagging & releasing a few A. shad but there are far more striped bass that he's catching, tagging & releasing. In Lambertville, NJ, the Lewis Fishery has netted only 2 buck shad so far. Likewise, Delaware Bay commercial gill netter George Kumor has caught only 2 A. shad, one on 3/25 & one on 4/3. He claims they are late, & hopes to have good catches next week. Mostly bunker & striped bass in the bay at this time.
