Turkey Hunting Seminars and Calling Clinics - Multiple Dates! |

The Division of Fish and Wildlife, in partnership with the NJ Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will be hosting several free wild turkey hunting and calling seminars throughout the state this spring! These seminars are open to all individuals and will cover a wide variety of topics to help new and current turkey hunters gain valuable skills for the upcoming spring season! We look forward to seeing you at one of these events!
Saturday, March 28, 9:30 a.m.to 12:30 p.m. - Batsto Village, Washington Township, Burlington County: Join Lou Gambale, NJNWTF president and Save the Habitat/Save the Hunt coordinator as he discusses a range of topics from before the hunt to after the shot. Participants are encouraged to bring their own calls. Capacity is limited; pre-registration is not required, but appreciated. Individuals can pre-register by e-mailing R3mentoredhunt@dep.nj.gov. Saturday, April 4, 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. - Pequest Trout Hatchery, Oxford, Warren County: Join former DFW biologist and retired regional biologist for the NWTF Bob Eriksen. He will cover the Division's Wild Turkey Restoration Project and share some excellent insight for beginners and experienced turkey hunters alike! Participants are encouraged to bring their own calls. Registration is required for this program and can be done by calling 908-637-4125.
Sunday, April 5, 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. - Wallkill National Wildlife Refuge, Sussex, Sussex County: Join former DFW biologist and retired regional biologist for the NWTF's Bob Eriksen for a 'Turkey Hunting 101' seminar. This seminar is tailored to novice hunters who have little to no turkey hunting experience. Topics will include biology, hunting methods, turkey hunting safety, and more! Capacity is limited; pre-registration is not required, but appreciated. Individuals can pre-register by e-mailing R3mentoredhunt@dep.nj.gov. Saturday, April 11, 9:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. - Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area, New Egypt, Ocean County: join the Central Jersey Limbhangers Chapter of the NWTF along with Division staff where they will be discussing turkey hunting topics such as calling, scouting, and safety. Participants are encouraged to bring their own calls. Pre-registration is not required, but appreciated. Individuals can pre-register by e-mailing R3mentoredhunt@dep.nj.gov.
