New Jersey Department of Education

Hope, Healing and Resilience Through the COVID-19 Pandemic

The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), in collaboration with our arts partners Arts Ed NJ and the Art Educators of New Jersey, wishes to express a hearty thank you to all of our students who answered our call to submit their individual expressions of hope, healing, and resilience through the COVID-19 pandemic. Students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade statewide submitted more than 1,400 works of art in response to the showcase call for submissions. This site contains the art of students received from across New Jersey. The original art is based on the individual student’s interpretation of the theme: Hope, Healing and Resilience through the COVID-19 Pandemic. Students were encouraged to submit one original piece of two-dimensional art that conveyed a positive message of hope, healing, and resilience.

“The enthusiastic response from students shows their resiliency as they persevere through the challenges they continue to face as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each submission reflects the young artist’s hope for the future.”

    - Acting Commissioner Dr. Angelica Allen-McMillan

For your viewing pleasure, all art received is displayed in this digital student art showcase hosted by the NJDOE. The art is accessible by County and District.
