On September 25, 2026, the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Justice released joint guidance on how educational institutions can prepare for and respond to swatting incidents. Department of Homeland Security "Duration of Status" Rule Temporarily Blocked
On September 14, 2026, a federal judge temporarily blocked the new 'duration of status' regulation that was set to limit international students with a fixed-period framework. The memorandum and order on motion for preliminary injection is available here.
