The Managed Long Term Services and Supports Steering Committee and Other Public Advisory Councils
MLTSS Steering Committee
The Managed Long Term Services and Supports Steering Committee was established to provide stakeholder input and advice regarding the implementation of the New Jersey Medicaid Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) Program. The Steering Committee is comprised of members of the Medicaid Long Term Care Funding Advisory Council, consumers, providers, and representatives of the New Jersey Medicaid managed care organizations and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
The Steering Committee established workgroups that met at least twice a month from mid-March through June 2012 to develop recommendations for the consideration of leadership of the Department of Human Services before implementation of this portion of the Comprehensive Medicaid Waiver.

Medicaid Long Term Care Funding Advisory Council
The Independence, Dignity and Choice in Long-Term Care Act (Public Law 2006, chapter 23) created the Medicaid Long Term Care Funding Advisory Council. The Council began meeting in November 2006 to provide input on the process to reallocate Medicaid long-term care expenditures and develop a more appropriate funding balance between nursing home care and home and community based services. As required under the Act, the Department of Human Services Commissioner in consultation with the Council must present an annual report pursuant to N.J.S.A. 30:4D-17.27 that covers progress made in rebalancing New Jersey's long-term care system

Medical Assistance Advisory Council
Federal law and State statute provides for the establishment of the Medical Assistance Advisory Council (MAAC). The MAAC's primary objective is to advise the Director of the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services in matters of medical care and health services, for those whom the program is designed to serve, and to foster communication with the public.
