In New Jersey, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) , provides services to individuals of employable age with disabilities who may need assistance or training at 18 different offices around the state. Individuals who are blind or have a serious visual impairment are served by the Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CBVI). Vocational rehabilitation counselors are available in both agencies.
New Jersey One-Stop Career Centers offer services (free of charge) to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in a 21st century work environment. One-Stops are staffed with qualified professionals who can assist with obtaining employment or job training.
Employment counselors at New Jersey’s One Stops can help explore career choices relating to your interests and abilities and will help you explore occupations that best utilize your skills in the current job market. You can also access training programs in vocational and trade schools , apprenticeships in many fields and Job Search Readiness Workshops.
