NJDCISR was established through a grant offered by the New Jersey Office of Victim Witness Advocacy. It allowed the Office of Employee and Organization Development (OEOD) to provide critical incident stress management services to first responders victimized by disaster responses after September 11, 2001.
The NJDCISR's mission is to address the needs of high risk rescuers involved in the World Trade Center (WTC) disaster and future disasters using the following:
-
customized Critical Incident Stress Response that is comprehensive, statewide, and first responder oriented.
-
peer support and rescuer expertise to integrate 9/11 lessons learned as well as future clinical and logistical plans through interactive response and training.
