The Improper Evidence of Ownership Procedure is a 8-step procedure for obtaining a New Jersey title for a vehicle, vessel, or trailer that is purchased without a properly assigned title. This procedure is available only to New Jersey residents, New Jersey businesses, or New Jersey dealerships.

Each case is unique and handled on an individual basis, and it is possible that additional documents may be required to complete the procedure
