  為了加強執法人員與移民社區之間的互信關係，新澤西州政府於2018年10月份頒布了一項新的法規，
嚴格的限制了新澤西州警及地方員警與聯邦移民局之合作。


根據州政府所新頒布的法規，新澤西州之員警將不允許單以無證者之嫌疑,對市民進行截停,詢問,逮捕,搜索,或是拘留。
在沒有涉及不法的情況下,新澤西州之員警也將不允許向市民大眾隨機盤問是否有合法移民之身分，
除非當事者涉及犯罪案件之調查。


新法規的目的之一是確保所有新澤西州之居民，包括移民，都能夠安心的與新澤西州警及地方員警互動。同
時也確保受害人或證人在向地方執法單位舉報犯罪案件時,不需畏懼有被移送聯邦移民局的可能性。
