DOW provides $25,000 to State funded "lead" domestic violence shelter programs in New Jersey to address health and safety issues and maintain or improve the physical structure of a shelter or outreach office.  The maximum award to any awardee is $10,000.

Physical improvements may include, but are not limited to, new construction, furnishings, appliances, and equipment.

Eligible applicants must be a lead domestic violence agency and a grantee of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families.  A grantee is defined as a current DCF contractor.  Grants are intended to assist service providers in maintaining or improving and assuring the safety and well-being of the individuals and families receiving the department's services.

Women's Shelter Grant funding is announced annually via a Request for Proposal and is posted on DCF's website at:  www.nj.gov/dcf/providers/notices/
