The Consumer Affairs Counseling Section provides
legal counsel and representation to more than
forty professional and occupational licensing
boards and committees and to the Division of Consumer
Affairs and its Office Consumers Affairs. The
legal counsel provided addresses, for example,
agency decision making with respect to the promulgation
of regulations, disciplinary matters, and licensing
and credentialing matters. The section brings
enforcement actions in the Superior Court for
the unlicensed practice of regulated professions
and defends the boards when sued in State or federal
court.
