The
Enforcement
Section provides representation to the Department
of Environmental Protection and other State
agencies and commissions in federal and State
court and administrative litigation to enforce
a wide range of federal and State environmental
laws. The Clean Air Unit of the section is dedicated
to the enforcement of the Federal Clean Air
Act, including enforcement actions brought in
concert with other states and the federal government
against coal-fired plants in New Jersey and
other states. The
section also provides representation to the
NJ Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness
(OHSP) and OHSP’s partner agencies including,
but not limited to, the Office of Emergency
Management, the National Guard and the Department
of Health as well as coordination/cooperation
with federal, regional, state and local homeland
security entities on a wide variety of operational
and legal issues and initiatives in the emerging
discipline of homeland security / emergency
management law.
