| CE Credit Hours Required to Reinstate a Broker, Broker-salesperson or Salesperson License |
To reinstate an unrenewed broker, broker-salesperson or salesperson license, you must complete the continuing education (“CE”) credit hours applicable to the license type in the preceding license term.
- Applicants to reinstate a broker, broker-salesperson or salesperson license must complete a total of twelve (12) CE credit hours as follows:

At least: |
6 CE credit hours in core topics (at least 2 CE credit hours of which must be ethics); and (at least 1 CE credit hour of which must be Fair Housing and NJ Law Against Discrimination); and (at least 1 CE credit hour of which must be agency) and |

An additional: |
6 CE credit hours in electives, ethics, fair housing, agency or core. |
- The CE credit hours required to reinstate an unrenewed license may be obtained from coursework completed during the preceding license term (i.e., July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025) or during the current license term (i.e., July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027).
- If completed during the current license term, applicants must designate to the CE provider that the CE credit should be applied to the preceding license term (i.e., if you did not renew your license by June 30, 2025 and need to complete CE to reinstate, that CE should be applied to the 2023-2025 license term).
