NJ American Legion's 107th Convention

Commissioner Solomeno Addresses the American Legion Family

The American Legion Department of New Jersey held its 107th Annual State Convention at Wildwoods Convention Center. During the convention, Commissioner Vincent Solomeno, along with U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Derek B. Routt, Assistant Adjutant General of New Jersey, spoke and presented Dan Channel, Commander, American Legion, Department of New Jersey, with the New Jersey Commendation Medal (pictured below). We were proud to honor Commander Channel for his exemplary service to our country.

Commissioner Solomeno was also welcomed by separate meetings of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of New Jersey and the Sons of the American Legion Detachment of New Jersey. Solomeno shared an update on the state’s efforts to achieve functional zero and effectively end homelessness among veterans. He also highlighted the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs’ collaboration with the American Legion and the importance of a continued partnership to advocate for veterans, family members, caregivers, and survivors.
