Disabled American Veterans Convention
Disabled American Veterans Wrap Convention Season
On June 15, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Department of New Jersey, held its annual state convention at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Commissioner Vincent Solomeno provided an update to the convention on the transformation of state-delivered veterans benefits and services, recognized DAV for its leadership in the areas of veterans transportation and advocacy for improvements at East Orange VA and Lyons VA, and met individually with members to hear their thoughts on the Take Care of America's Veterans Act currently before the U.S. Congress. He also presented Department Commander Robert Buccino with the New Jersey Commendation Medal in recognition of his engagement in the public policy process and advocacy for all Veterans.
DAV members work each day to empower Veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. They ensure that Veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them and can be often found at the State House in Trenton or on Capitol Hill in Washington advocating for America’s injured heroes.
