Celebrating 101-year-old WWII Veteran
On June 15, 2026, Esther Chucaralao, Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, along with U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Yvonne Mays, The Adjutant General of New Jersey, were on hand to honor Paul Robbins aboard the Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial.
Paul is the last known World War II Veteran of Battleship New Jersey. He recently turned 101 years old, and Deputy Commissioner Chucuralao remarked on how WWII Veterans like Paul are living history and should be celebrated not only for their service but for their stories. Deputy Commissioner Chucuralao also spoke with two other World War II Veterans (below) also in attendance for the celebration.
