On June 23, a ceremony was held at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Holmdel to honor U.S. Army Specialist Four Carl D. Wadleigh. The ceremony commemorated the addition of his name to the Memorial Wall of Heroes in recognition of his service and sacrifice for our country.

Carl is the 1,566th Vietnam Veteran to be added to the Memorial Wall. Killed in action in 1968, he was mistakenly identified in 1972, with the error only corrected in 1989. The ceremony was a beautiful and moving tribute to his memory and finally gave him the welcome home he deserves.
