Press Release - New Jersey Commissioner of Veterans Affairs Vincent Solomeno Launches Annual 21 County Tour Honoring Our Heroes: A 21-County Salute on Our 250th Anniversary

Lawrenceville, NJ – On October 21, 2026, Vincent Solomeno, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs, kicked off his annual tour of the Garden State's twenty-one counties. For the third consecutive year, Commissioner Solomeno will travel across New Jersey, engaging with Veterans, their family members, caregivers, and the service organizations that work tirelessly to honor and support those who wore America's uniform.

This year’s tour holds special significance, as it coincides with the United States’ 250th Anniversary. The tour will feature a series of public events and town halls, providing opportunities for meaningful connections with Veterans at every stage of their journey – from student veterans to distinguished medal recipients. The Veterans 21 County Tour kicks off at 3:00 pm today at High Point Veterans Memorial, and culminates with the state’s observance of Veterans Day at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Holmdel, New Jersey, on November 11th at 11:00 AM.

"Under Governor Mikie Sherrill's leadership, today the State of New Jersey is investing more, doing more, and achieving more for veterans than we ever have before," said Commissioner Solomeno. "I am heading out on the road to visit with veterans in every one of our counties. To listen, learn, and share updates on state-delivered benefits, programs, and services."

The New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs has created a dedicated page on their website (veterans.nj.gov) to highlight opportunities for engagement throughout the tour. The page also features a tracker to show where Commissioner Solomeno is visiting between now and Veterans Day.

Tour Highlights:
• Public Events and Town Halls: Open forums for Veterans and their families to voice concerns and share their stories.
• Resource Fairs: Information booths offering details on available benefits, services, and support programs.
• Special Recognitions: Honoring distinguished Veterans and service organizations for their contributions and dedication.
