Charter schools are free, open-enrollment public schools that are required by law to serve all students. The NJDOE is committed to working with charter schools to ensure that they are meeting the needs of all students, including students requiring special education services, students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, English Language Learners, and other underserved or at-risk populations.
