The Single Grants Audit Unit (SGAU) is a diverse team of audit and administrative professionals with extensive private and governmental experience who are committed to ensuring federal funds and public money is spent as required primarily for students in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and departmental guidelines.  The team is dedicated to fulfilling this charge in a friendly and progressive manner and providing auditees/schools with technical assistance to the extent practical.  We look forward to working with you!

SGAU performs the following audits to ensure funds are spent on eligible students/beneficiaries in conformity with pertinent laws and regulations:

  • Audits of federal Title I grants awarded to LEAs and county vocational schools pursuant to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as reauthorized by the Every Students Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). In addition, SGAU provides technical assistance to the extent practical.
