Vineland Developmental Center (VDC) was founded in 1888. VDC provides a comprehensive array of residential, habilitation, behavioral and health care services for women and men with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the entire State of New Jersey, including developmental centers (centers). Please take a moment to review the COVID-19 Response Plan that outlines protocols in place related to COVID-19 at the centers.

If you are interested in the overall number of COVID-19 positive residents and staff at any center, please review our data dashboard. It is updated every week and can be found in the Developmental Disabilities section of the Department of Human Services COVID-19 Information Hub.

Weather permitting, family and friends of VDC residents are able to engage in outdoor visits with residents. These visits must be approved by the guardian of the resident, scheduled in advance and strict protocols of social distancing and wearing face coverings must be adhered to.

Currently, indoor visits are not yet available at VDC. Indoor visits will resume once the facility goes 28 days without a newly confirmed COVID-19 positive resident or staff. When the benchmark for indoor visitation is met, this website will be updated with that information and family and friends of center residents will be notified. Please note that once indoor visits do resume, they will be suspended if new COVID-19 positive cases are identified at the center.

Other ways to visit with center residents are available. If you would like to visit with a center resident via telephone or virtual method, such as Skype or other video platform the center is able to help.

For questions, complaints, urgent inquiries or to schedule in-person or virtual visit with a center resident, please contact the center’s Social Services Department. This can be done my calling the number below and asking to speak with someone in the Social Services Department.
