Children’s System of Care (CSOC)

The Children’s System of Care is New Jersey’s public behavioral healthcare system serving youth under age 21 with emotional and behavioral health care needs, and substance use challenges. CSOC also provides support for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
CSOC oversees a statewide network of Care Management Organizations (CMOs), inpatient and outpatient mental health services, family support services, and the Mobile Response and Stabilization Services program which responds when a child is experiencing a mental health emergency and in need of de-escalation. CSOC provides community-based, culturally competent services and supports based on the needs of the youth and their family.

2NDFLOOR

New Jersey youth and young adults, ages 10 to 24, can call or text the 2NDFLOOR helpline anytime at 888-222-2228 to talk to a professional about any issues they may be facing.
2NDFLOOR also offers a mobile app in the Apple App Store and through Google Play that can connect youth with 1:1 confidential chat support, allow them to communicate directly with their peers on message boards, or find daily inspiration.

Soluna App by Kooth

The Soluna mobile app by telehealth provider Kooth is a wellbeing app for New Jersey teens that bills itself as “Everything you need for better mental health—all in one space.”
From drop-in coaching chats to scheduled video sessions with a therapist, the app allows teens to get judgment-free support, free of charge, without the need for health insurance or a subscription.

New Jersey Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative (NJPPC)

The New Jersey Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative (NJPPC) is a statewide initiative, funded by NJ DCF, to improve access to mental health supports for children and adolescents up to age 21 who are under the care of their pediatric primary care provider.
The program is free, and participating pediatric care providers can consult with NJPPC’s mental health professionals, including child and adolescent psychiatrists.

988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

Prevent Suicide NJ

Prevent Suicide NJ offers a comprehensive website, full of prevention resources, training materials and a directory of nonprofits and other services that can help reduce suicide, diminish the stigma of suicide, and support those touched by suicide.
The site is maintained by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and is funded by the NJ Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services Child and Adolescent Health Program.

Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS)

The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness, saving lives, and reducing the stigma of suicide through specialized training programs and mental health resources that empower students, parents, school staff, and community members with the skills needed to help youth build a life of resiliency.
